French Beef Stew


This is the perfect dish for you to make whenever you need something warm
and filling on a cold winter night. Be sure to serve this stew with freshly
baked French bread for the tastiest results.
Makes: 8 servings
Total Prep Time: 9 to 10 hours
Ingredients:
3 potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
2 pounds of beef, cut into small cubes
4 carrots, thinly sliced
2 onions, thinly sliced
3 ribs of celery, thinly sliced
2 cups of tomato juice
1 cup of water
1/3 cup of tapioca
1 Tbsp. of white sugar
1 Tbsp. of salt
1 tsp. of dried basil
½ tsp. of black pepper
Directions:
1. Place the potato cubes into the bottom of a slow cooker.

2. Add in the beef cubes, sliced carrots, sliced onions and sliced
celery over the top.
3. In a bowl, add in the tomato juice, water, tapioca, white sugar, dash
of salt, dried basil and dash of black pepper. Stir well to mix and
pour over the top of the vegetables.
4. Cover and cook on the lowest setting for 9 to 10 hours or until the
beef is soft.
